Award winning chefs, Matt Stone and Jo Barrett
Matt Stone is arguably the leading sustainable chef in Australian dining, he has risen to the top of the culinary world since he started cooking in Margaret River. Matt is now the Executive Chef at Oakridge Wines in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, where he and partner Jo Barrett cook from the kitchen garden and source local ethically and sustainably farmed and foraged produce. Jo Barrett is currently the Sous Chef and Head of Pastry at Oakridge Wines, working alongside Matt, to establish the estate’s kitchen garden and reputation as one of Victoria’s best restaurants. Both Matt Stone and Jo Barrett received the 2017 Hostplus Trailblazer award, and Oakridge Wines was awarded one Chef’s Hat in the Good Food Guide 2018 Awards, as well as best dessert in 2016 from Delicious Magazine.
ZeroFoodprint Dinner Series
The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival will take over our kitchen for a ten-day celebration of Victoria’s world class growers, winemakers and producers with a sustainable vision. Be part of a global movement when you dine in the House of Food and Wine Hotel at the dinner series co-curated by ZeroFoodprint. Each night, an international or interstate guest chef will step into our kitchen and offer their take on sustainable eating, and deliver a very special experience over five courses with matched wines from a master Melbourne sommelier.
